Forest Act, 1927 – S. 42 – Tripura Forest Transit Rules, 1952 – R. 13 – Penalty for breach of rules – Vehicle was found carrying 4 sawn teak timbers inside it – Accused was driver of vehicle who was accompanied by co-accused – None of them could produce any permit or valid transit pass for movement of those sawn timbers – the timbers recovered from their possession were seized by the Forest officials – Vehicle in which they were unauthorizedly carrying said forest produce at about 4 o’clock in morning had no number plate – They could not produce any valid transit pass authorising them to convey such forest produce – Any movement of timber and firewood or any other forest produce without valid transit pass constitute violation of Rules – there is no ground to interfere with the concurrent findings of the courts below with regard to the conviction of the petitioners. 2021 CriLJ 4880
